Golem Chairs for Poggi by Vico Magistretti | 1968
The ‘Golem’ set, consisting of two black lacquered curved wooden chairs designed by Vico Magistretti for Carlo Poggi in 1968, stands as an epitome of Italian design. These chairs have a quite surreal appearance inspired by the work of Scottish designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Magistretti encountered Mackintosh’s creations at an exhibition and was deeply impressed.
Mackintosh, an architect and designer (1868-1928), predates the Modern Movement, which later influenced Magistretti’s work.
The chairs are in perfect condition, with only minor scratches.
