Mythology: the scene depicts the giant Antheus, son of Neptune and Gaea, is invincible as long as he is in contact with the Earth, his mother. Hercules, discovered the secret of the giant, manages to grab him in a tight grip and lift him from the ground, so as to deprive him of all power and kill him.
